THE QC LIST PALETTE AND PREFS DIALOG

USING THE PALETTE

Whenever QC goes through its analysis, it displays its results on the QC list palette. Items are displayed in the order they are encountered. If an item has a green striped background, that means it was flagged as a priority item in the QC dialog. If the number of items exceeds the available space to display them, you can open the window and/or scroll down in the list to access them.

Clicking on an item in the list transports you to the box or text which the item concerns. If you want to go right to the selected text and not just the box, make sure you have auto scroll checked in prefs.

IMPORTANT: If you edit text while using the QC palette to locate problems, it may start to go to text locations which have moved since QC last ran. Therefore make sure to use the QC page or selection buttons (see below) to refresh the data after edits.

Clicking this button will cause QC to check only the items which are currently selected.

Clicking this button will cause QC to check only the current page. This is probably the most commonly used button as you will need to refresh QC as you make edits and corrections.

Clicking this button will bring up the Page Range Dialog. If you hit OK, QC will proceed to process all pages within the range.

Clicking this button will cause QC to check the entire document. Be careful with longer documents as this button could yield more than you need.

Clicking these buttons will move you forward or backwards through the document one page at a time. This can be used in conjunction with the QC Current Page button above.
